The Aqua is the most common hybrid on Karachi's roads, and its battery is the most common repair we do. If your fuel average has fallen, the battery gauge jumps from full to empty, or the red triangle has come on, the pack under the rear seat is almost always the cause. An Aqua pack rarely dies overnight. It fades over a few months, and the car tells you in these ways. If you notice two or more, book a free diagnostic.
A healthy Aqua gives 25–30 km/L. When the pack weakens the engine does all the work and the average falls to 12–15 km/L, close to a normal petrol car.
The gauge shows full, drops to one or two bars within a minute of driving, then climbs back to full while braking. Weak modules cannot hold a charge, so the reading swings.

A healthy Aqua switches the engine off at signals. If it keeps running or restarts every 30 seconds, the pack cannot hold enough charge to power the electrics.
The Aqua AC compressor is electric and runs off the hybrid battery. When the pack is weak, the AC blows warm in stop-and-go traffic and only cools once the engine is charging.
A scan shows P0A80 (replace hybrid battery pack), P0A7F (battery pack deterioration) or P3000 (HV battery control system). We read these free at your door.

What the price includes: the battery pack, free installation at your home or office anywhere in Karachi, a full diagnostic scan before and after, cell balancing on our charger, a 5-year written warranty card, and pickup of your old battery. There is no separate labour, transport or scanning charge.
Old battery exchange: we give a credit for your old Aqua pack against the price of the new one. The amount depends on the condition of the modules, so send us your model year on WhatsApp and we will quote the exchange price with and without the old battery.

The Aqua (Prius C outside Japan) uses a sealed nickel-metal hydride pack under the rear seat: 20 prismatic modules in series, each with six 1.2 V cells. It is air-cooled by a small fan that draws cabin air through a filter beside the rear seat, which matters a great deal in Karachi.

Most Aquas in Karachi arrived between 2017 and 2022 with an original pack already 5 to 8 years old. Add 4 to 6 years of Karachi driving and the majority on the road today are due, or overdue, for a battery.
Both are good choices. The right one depends on how long you plan to keep the car and how you drive.
The same chemistry Toyota fitted at the factory. It is cheaper, modules are widely available, the car's computer needs no modification, and it can be serviced module by module later. Its drawbacks are weight and a shorter life in heat. With a clean cooling filter it gives a good 5 years in Karachi, which is what our warranty covers.
A lithium pack is noticeably lighter, holds its charge better in stop-and-go traffic, and lets the car run in EV mode more often. Most owners see 2 to 4 km/L more than a fresh NiMH pack in the city. It handles heat better and does not fade the way NiMH does, so we expect 7 to 8 years from it, and its built-in BMS balances the cells. The disadvantage is simple: it costs more up front, and module work later is a specialist job rather than a swap.

Most Aqua packs in Karachi give 4 to 6 years of service after the car is imported. The original pack has usually already done 5 to 8 years in Japan, so an Aqua that arrived in 2019 is often on its way out by 2024 or 2025. Heat is the main enemy: a pack in a parked car at 45°C with a blocked cooling fan filter ages much faster. A new pack from us, with a clean fan filter, should comfortably cover the 5-year warranty period.
A new NiMH pack for the Toyota Aqua NHP10 starts from PKR 80,000 for 2012–2015 models, PKR 85,000 for 2016–2019 and PKR 90,000 for 2020–2021, installed at your home with a 5-year written warranty. The lithium upgrade starts from PKR 90,000. Module-level repair starts from PKR 35,000. Exchange credit for your old battery is available; send a WhatsApp message with your model year for a confirmed quote.
Sometimes. If the scan shows only one or two of the 20 modules are weak and the rest are within a narrow voltage range, we can replace those modules and rebalance the pack from PKR 35,000. This is a short-term fix: the remaining modules are the same age and usually follow within 6 to 18 months. For a pack over 6 years old, or with 4 or more weak modules, full replacement with a 5-year warranty is the better value.

Yes. You receive a printed warranty card with the pack serial number, installation date and your car's registration. It covers the battery pack and its modules against failure or a capacity drop that brings the hybrid warning back, for 5 years from the installation date. If a module fails, we replace or rebalance it free of charge. Physical damage, flooding, tampering by another workshop and running the car with a blocked cooling fan are not covered.
If the fuel average dropped because the pack could no longer hold a charge, yes. A healthy Aqua in Karachi city traffic should return 22 to 28 km/L, and after a new NiMH pack most owners see it come back to that range within a week of normal driving. A lithium pack typically adds another 2 to 4 km/L. If the average stays low after replacement, the cause is elsewhere (engine, ABS actuator switching off regeneration, tyre pressure or AC compressor) and we tell you that in the diagnostic report rather than sell you a battery.
