Ask three workshops for a price and you will get three very different numbers. Here is what actually drives the cost, so you can compare quotes properly.
Most hybrids sold in Karachi came from the factory with a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) pack. It is the cheaper option and works well. A lithium pack costs from PKR 10,000 more on an Aqua to around PKR 40,000 more on bigger cars, but it is lighter, gives better pick-up and fuel average, tolerates Karachi's heat better and usually lasts longer. Both come with the same 5-year warranty from us.
The bigger the pack, the more it costs. A Toyota Aqua pack has 20 modules; a Prius Gen 2 or Gen 3 pack has 28; a Camry Hybrid pack has 34. That is why an Aqua battery starts at PKR 80,000 while a Camry battery starts at PKR 120,000 even though the technology is the same. Newer generations (Prius Gen 4, C-HR, Corolla Cross) use lithium from the factory, so there is no cheaper NiMH option for them.
A refurbished pack is an old battery with the weakest modules swapped out. It can be a fair short-term fix, but it should be sold as refurbished at a refurbished price. We do not sell refurbished packs as new, and every price on this page is for new A+ grade cells.
This is where cheap quotes get expensive. A PKR 55,000 battery with a 1-year warranty sounds like a saving of PKR 25,000 against our Aqua price. But Karachi heat is hard on hybrid batteries, and a pack built from mixed or lower-grade cells often fails in 14 to 24 months, just after the warranty ends. Replace it twice in five years and you have spent PKR 110,000 plus two installation charges, with a car that was off the road each time. A PKR 80,000 pack with a 5-year written warranty is paid for once, and any failure inside five years is our cost, not yours.

The smaller hybrid packs are the cheapest we install: Toyota Aqua, Vitz Hybrid and Corolla Axio/Fielder all start from PKR 80,000 with the 5-year written warranty and free installation at your home. Honda Fit and Grace (including the older Fit GP1) start from PKR 90,000, and the Honda Vezel (2013–2020) lithium-ion pack from PKR 110,000. Larger packs like the Camry, Crown and Lexus RX450h cost more because they have more cells.
For an Aqua or Prius you plan to keep for 3 or more years, usually yes. A lithium pack is lighter, holds charge better in Karachi heat, improves fuel average and pick-up, and typically lasts longer than NiMH. If you plan to sell the car within a year or two, a new NiMH pack with the same 5-year warranty is the better-value choice.
